Blown up LED Driver

I bought a few of these about 10 months ago to power the LED's for my under cabinet lighting, fish tank and other decorative uses.

One day when turning the under cabinet lighting on.. BOOM!

• R9 - Melted the solder
• Above D5 - Should have the top which is to the Left of the RED cap.

I have never seen an IC split like that before. The power did not trip during explosion. I think it is a voltage regulator. Hope none of the others do this...
