Hard Drives (102) - Head crash. How to detect it and NOT mistake with PCB Fault.

Here is a movie of a head crash.
This movie is beneficial for you because you can hear the noises the drives makes. Its a beeping noise but also with clicking. Also listen very closely when the platter slows down- list how one of the heads is scratching the platter.
This was a hard drive for refurbishing - so it was opened in my office without a controlled environment. Please refer to lesson 101 to what happens to platters and heads when you do this.

Patient: Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 160GB ATA (Apple Badged) muhahahaha
